Torre di Strada

Wonderful vacation in a tower of the year 1000! For young families with children, who want to experience a very particular holiday or for a young couple, who want to spend romantic times in this tower even for an unforgettable honeymoon

The tower has 4 levels with 2 bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms and a room with a bunk bed. On the ground floor, we find a double bedroom with direct exit to the garden. This room is characterized by an antique Tuscan cotto floor, beautiful cross vault made of red bricks and by the walls made of natural stones. There is also a small bathroom with WC and sink. This bedroom is not connected with the other rooms of the house. The access to the room is from the garden, while the entrance of the first floor is up with an external staircase. The bedroom with bunk bed is on the second floor. This room has parquet floor and wooden beamed ceilings and a bathroom with beautiful Tuscan tiles, a very big shower enclosure, WC, bidet and sink. The third bedroom is set on the third floor and the last level of the tower. It is a double bedroom with parquet floor and wooden beamed ceilings and has a bathroom with WC and sink. This holiday house can accommodate up to 6 persons + 1 baby (baby cot is available) or 1 kid (a folding bed is available).

The kitchen is located on the first floor, on the back of the tower, with the access with an outside staircase and it is very good equipped with 4 burner gas oven, German coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, sink and all the necessary kitchenware for cooking without problems. The wife of the owner can prepare for you a typical Tuscan menu, on demand; you are on holiday, let you be spoiled for a time!

There are 3 bathrooms, all new and furnished with beautiful ceramic of Tuscany.

On the back of the tower, there is a big olive grove and orchard with a Pergola nearby and table and benches of massive wood for eating al fresco. A barbecue is available for cooking outside. This is the ideal place for romantic dinners in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany.

The swimming pool is next to the guest house, few meters above, in a dominant position, equipped with sun beds, sun umbrella and outside shower with a splendid far- reaching view of the Tuscan landscape. The swimming pool may be used only by the guests of the holiday house.

The rooms should be reached through an external staircase with marvelous wrought iron banisters. The little characteristic windows are all around the tower - decked with romantic handmade curtains- and offers a 360° view of the lush nature of this Tuscan country house. The big property is completely fenced and so the children can play here without any dangers and in total freedom: no streets, no cars. In Poppi, only 6 km away, there is a Golf Club with pizzeria/restaurant located in a wonderful position with a stunning view of the castle of Poppi and of its medieval hamlet.  In the nearest village, Strada, there are a fitness centre, a bowling, a public swimming pool and tennis courts.

Strada can be reached on foot and there you will find all the shops you need: post office, chemist, supermarket, banks, pizzerias, restaurants and il mercato, an open-air market on Mondays afternoon, in the main piazza. In Bibbiena, 12 km away, there is a big shopping centre with a Coop supermarket. Casentino has many enchanting villages worth to be seen, such as Pratovecchio, Stia, Poppi, Bibbiena… and, during the summer, there are many folk festivals, sagre, almost in each village, such as” la sagra dei funghi porcini “- porcini mushrooms- 3 days in Moggiona, il Gusto dei Guidi, a wine event in Poppi, the last week-end of August, la sagra dei Ravioli… there is always a typical food to eat and a good Tuscan wine to drink: a good chance of enjoying yourself in a convivial atmosphere! You can’t miss them! In a hour and half you will reach both Arezzo and Florence and, besides, many famous cultural and artistic towns such as Siena, S. Gimignano, Cortona, Perugia and Assisi can be easily reached with a daily tour.   Road map:  Highway up to Florence and then Consuma pass to Strada, about 60 km Or Highway up to Arezzo and then direction Casentino, up to Strada, about 50 km Our tip for your town visit: By train, you will arrive in Arezzo in about 50 minutes without the problem of finding a parking for your car.The station is in Porrena, only 5 minutes from the holiday house and the train leaves almost each hour. You can do the same for your visit to Florence, this time by bus. The bus stop is only few minutes away and the bus goes to Florence about 8 times a day from Strada. We highly recommend these solutions.
